Demand for Copper
As demand for copper moves to outstrip supply, Serena Resources Limited is investigating the Trebolar Copper Project, consisting of over 30 new copper exploration concessions within the world-class Chilean porphyry copper belt.
Within these concessions, two highly prospective targets have been identified so far; and these are the kind of targets that every company exploring for copper in Chile is looking for.
Preliminary sampling indicates that the Trebolar targets exhibit similar levels of copper and molybdenum to Escondida – one of the world’s largest copper mines – and other previous significant Chilean copper discoveries.
Key advantages of the porphyry copper type targets such as those so far identified include:
- Large tonnage potential with even distribution of copper
- Suitability for conventional open pit mining
- Lower cap-ex requirements and lower extraction costs.
In addition, the position of the targets, on relatively low, level and stable terrain points to low logistical costs and high margins.
